ICARUS WITCH To Open For HEAVEN & HELL In Cleveland
August 9, 2009Pittsburgh traditional metallers ICARUS WITCH will open for HEAVEN & HELL on Saturday, August 22 at the Nautica Pavilion in Cleveland, Ohio. The band will hit the stage around 7:00 p.m., with COHEED AND CAMBRIA scheduled to go on right after them.
Commented ICARUS WITCH in a statement, "This concert has an extra level of meaning for us, as the first song ICARUS WITCH ever recorded was BLACK SABBATH's 'Falling Off The Edge Of The World' for 'Evil Lives: A True Metal Tribute To Black Sabbath' back in 2004. So in many ways, our young career began in the reflection of Dio, Iommi, Butler and Appice.
"We've had the fortune to meet and talk with the band members a few times over the past couple years, and now, to warm up their crowd in the hometown of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is a dream come true."
Released in 2007, ICARUS WITCH's third album, "Songs for the Lost", was produced by Eric Klinger (PRO-PAIN, BUILT UPON FRUSTRATION) and includes a cover of DEF LEPPARD's "Mirror Mirror", featuring a guest appearance by legendary RAINBOW/DEEP PURPLE vocalist Joe Lynn Turner.
